This is a rare piece of philatelic and presidential history! This is the First Day of Issue ceremony program for the 1984 release of the Eleanor Roosevelt stamp, signed by 6 people, including 4 family members (all of whom are now deceased). The program is in nearly pristine condition, having been kept in plastic since the event.

The 20-cent commemorative stamp honoring Eleanor Roosevelt was issued October 11, 1984, at Hyde Park, New York. The First Day Ceremony was held at Val-Kill, the home where Mrs. Roosevelt resided during the last years of her life.

This ceremony program is signed by 6 people:
Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr. (1914-1988), James Roosevelt (1907-1991), Elliott Roosevelt (1910-1990): 3 sons of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
Patricia Peabody Roosevelt (1921-1996): 5th wife of Elliott Roosevelt.
William F. Bolger: 65th Postmaster General of the United States 1978 to 1985
Duane Pearson: Superintendent of the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National
